Yangon Technological University (YTU) organized kick-off meeting of DESL project in Yangon, Myanmar on 16 January 2020. Altogether 24 representatives of the partner institutions participated in the meeting to launch the project. Rector of YTU Dr. Myint Thein welcomed all participants and expressed his delight about Yangon Technological University being partner of the project. He emphasized the importance and usefulness of this project and offered full support and commitment in the implementation of planned activities.

The kick-off meeting provided opportunity for all partners to meet and get to know each other in person. The meeting started with the partner universities presenting briefly their educational and research activities related to the project, introducing project members and their responsibilities. Project coordinator presented short overview of the project objectives, work-packages and major activities, expected results, and overall schedule. Discussion was held on detailed project plan, actors and deliverables, reporting procedures, project management, financial management and reporting, and project quality assurance. Project quality assurance plan draft was discussed, and project management and quality assurance mechanisms were formulated.  The meeting concluded by discussing and agreeing on the work tasks and plans for next six months.
