DESL project need assessment preparation workshop was
held at Yangon Technological University, Myanmar on 17 January 2020. The
workshop was organized to design the methodology and instruments for Need
Assessment activities to be conducted in Vietnam and Myanmar.
The workshop started with the project coordinator
giving briefing to the participants overview of the need assessment activities
to be carried out in Vietnam and Myanmar. Two group works were held to review
existing courses and lab infrastructure at the partner institutions. After the
groupwork, each partner from Vietnam and Myanmar presented review of existing
courses on illumination engineering, smart lighting and provided information on
course development and approval procedure at their institutions. Furthermore,
partners also provided short briefing of current lab infrastructure in
lighting.
These presentations were followed by the discussion on
Identification of beneficiary groups, drafting of questionnaires, design of
instruments for data collection for need assessment survey, organization of
awareness raising seminar and preparation of report. Workshop was closed with
the distribution of tasks on upcoming need assessment activities, and agreeing
on responsibilities and deadlines for the tasks.
After the workshop visit to various labs at YTU were
organized.
